How do I order number plates online?

Choose a finish from our number plates, enter your registration, pick a size and front, rear or both, and add the plates to your basket. Send your order from the basket and we'll reply to confirm the details, the final price and how to pay. You can also order by phone on 01754 763270.

How do I pay?

When you send your order, we reply to confirm your registration, your documents and the final price, including any delivery charge. We then tell you how to pay. No payment is taken on this website.

Can I order just one plate?

Yes. Choose “Front” or “Rear” when you add plates to your basket. A single plate is priced separately for every finish.

Can you make plates for a private registration?

Yes. We make plates for private and cherished registrations as well as standard ones. Show us the V750 certificate of entitlement, V778 retention document or the V5C log book that shows the registration, plus proof of your name and address.

Road legal plates

What makes a number plate road legal?

It must meet the British Standard BS AU 145e. That sets the font, character size and spacing, the colours (white at the front, yellow at the back) and the strength and reflectivity of the plate. It must also show the supplier's name and postcode and the BS mark, and be made by a supplier who has checked your documents.

Are 3D and 4D number plates legal?

Yes, when they meet BS AU 145e. Raised characters are allowed on road plates as long as they're a single shade of black, in the correct font, size and spacing. Our 2D, 3D gel and 4D 3mm, 4D 5mm and 4D Matte plates can all be made road legal. For Ghost, 5D, Obsidian and Retro styles, ask us whether they can be made road legal for your registration.

What's the difference between 3D and 4D plates?

3D gel plates have printed characters topped with a clear, domed resin, which gives a glossy raised finish. 4D plates have characters laser-cut from solid acrylic, 3mm or 5mm deep, fixed to the plate. 4D has sharper edges and more depth.

What documents do I need?

The law says we must see two things before we make a road plate: proof of your name and address, such as a driving licence or a recent utility bill, and proof that you're entitled to the registration, such as the V5C log book or a V750 or V778. See the full list.

Are short and shaped plates legal?

Shaped and short plates must still meet the rules on character size and spacing. A short plate can't be used on the road if your registration doesn't fit at the legal character size. Tell us your registration and vehicle and we'll check before we make anything.

What is a show plate?

A plate that doesn't meet BS AU 145e, for example because of its style or spacing. Show plates are for display and off-road use only. It's an offence to fit one to a vehicle used on a public road.
